Valentines day Story
Once upon a time, there was a snowflake who was in love. Back in the raincloud, the first thing she saw was the sun, who was much too busy doing his sun-like duties to notice her small, fragile voice calling out to him. When she fell, she landed on her back on a garage in a big city. All day long, she would call out to the sun, but the cars would drown out her voice. One day, there was a big carnival on the other side of town, and the snowflake got her chance. She mustered all her strength, and shouted out “Mr. sun! I would like to tell you that I think you are beautiful!” the sun heard her and turned to her. “do you really mean that?” the sun asked. “yes, I do! I love you and want to spend my life with you!” she yelled back. The sun was happy that the snowflake had said this, so he leaned down and kissed her. The snowflake melted, but turned into a glistening star, and rose into the sky to sit with the sun, and they lived happily ever after.
Oh, what a lovely ending! I was afraid she would melt! I love the idea of them living happily together in the sky 🙂 Thanks so much for entering!
P.S. I was just reading about “the average human” since I haven’t seen your site before and saw you are 12 – are you one of Erik’s friends? I’m so glad to have another young writer involved in a contest!
Thank you for the nice comment. I’m actually 14, my information is outdated and I heard about the contest from my mom. I don’t know Erik, but I really liked his porcupine story.
Aww, that was sweet. Thanks for sharing it 🙂
Thanks, Jennifer!
Really great Valentines story! I loved the starry ending.

That was wonderful! I love the idea of an all-powerful sun bestowing a kiss that turns little snowflake into a star. Great work!
Thank you. Im glad you enjoyed it!
Oh, so glad there was a happy ending! I had visions of Frosty the Snowman melting in the greenhouse and never coming back, haha! A lovely story, indeed (and so appropriate considering the name of your blog). 🙂

Ben — Certainly two unlikely Valentine’s — but perfect on a day like we just in Ohio. Beautiful sunshine over a snow covered ground. The ending was fabulous! Very nice!
